I hope it didnt overheat, Id do a coolant and oil change, then keep an eye on it looking for signs of a head gaskit failure.

yes, ofcourse its running a P/S unit. its just went i lost the serpentine belt i lost powersteering.

all is well now though.

im looking into some pulleys for the charger.

its currently on this pulley

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/103mm-Clutched-S ... 3a50b9f8ac

but im looking to upgrade to this over the next week.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/82mm-SC14-toyota ... 3a50b9eab3

or perhaps just an 8psi pulley.

can anyone think of a cheaper option to buying one of these? a good powersteering pump pulley or aircon pulley that is 82mm??

hey mate nice car come check out pertheseries.com and bring it on a cruise some time.

I think you should get rid of the sc14 and go the new snort supercharger setup.

I'm gonna try out a new pulley setup first. Yeah might come for a bit of a cruiseee sometime :).

It currently has a 102mm clutched pulley or a 5psi pulley on it

Does anyone know how much power this car was making with the SC14 charger strapped on?

And does anyone know any info about who built the brackets etc to suit the EL?

Never saw dyno charts. But to be honest from the amount of cars I have had since then. I would estimate very generously 270wrhp.

It had different internals to a regular Toyota sc14 super charger. Sc 14 is 1.4L of air bla bla if I can remember. And this thing was a little bigger, a regular sc14 doesn't really have enough puff to make a difference on an 4L.

The kit was made by chipmaster and was sold as a complete kit with brackets etc, talking 10 years ago now when these cars where well. Still newish. Before raptor etc anyways.

Motor popper after 5000k's (stock Tickford block) and was rebuilt with low comp forged internals and a beefed up head.

As fast as a normal XR off the line but pulled hard above 60. Could beat a New VY SS at the time off the line and on the run (talking 3 car lengths)

Hope this info helped.

To be honest. Don't even bother supercharging your falcon. Xr6t's are so cheap now. You will end up spending more money and still only make similar power to a stockish xr6t

cheers thanks for the info mate. I am not chasing huge power figures. I have 5 other cars that I am pouring my cash into. This is just something I plan to do on the daily drive (manily because I can turn it on and off and save abit of fuel)

Thanks

Yeah the stock Toyota sc14's did have electronically controlled clutch packs in some of them. Cool idea. And don't bog out at the lights.

Reason I didn't like the idea is the car is running larger injectors, fuel pump, regulator etc and tune to compensate for the forced induction, that turning it to a N/a just makes the car run rich and results in poorer fuel economy anyway.

You'd still have a few dramas that would make it an annoying daily. One big one for me was belt slip. Took a while to rectify. But I i got damn good at swapping out torn up serpentine belts on the side of the freeway. Was like a 9pk2400 belt or something ridiculous aswell haha. Could never find replacements.

get a manual xr6/8...both my xr6's were way more fun to drive just being manual then the EL ever was,

BTR auto also didn't like the Extra power.

Upto you really. I'd go a nice clean xr6 manual as a daily drive rather then a old i6 with an even older SC strapped on the side. Be more trouble then it's worth now.
