Seeing as it's for a late model car, of which a turbo version already exists, I'd say go the supercharger if you don't want to trade up to an XR6T.
CAPA do BA 6 Supercharger kits, and at least they are a bit easier to remove if you decide to sell.

I have to agree right here but since its for a burnout ute he needs as much noise as he does smoke. The turbo would kill the sound unless he has a open exhaust and a screamer pipe.

I remember an article where they compared a factory BA XR6T ute against a Vortech supercharged ute (a $6000 kit) and the XR6T beat it in all things they tested. So I would buy a XR6T and work that instead. But a supercharger would be less common so has some appeal.

i like the sound of that.

i got the car 4 20 grand and figured if i put a supercharger or turbo on it would b same price as if buyn a second hand xr6t ute. just the added advantage of a new blower

Exactly a pipe out just behind driver..Extra cooling from alcahol for engine.. Pluss with compresion these things can run at 10 to 1 pluss you hear heaps....
Are you saying the 20B turbo's are quiet?
They can be made to make noise!!!

they are beyond loud, the 20B or any quick rotary car.
Can be likened to taking the muffler off your briggs n stratton and running round the back yard with it, constantly changing the throttle.

A guy I know has a mid/low 9 second 13B and it is whisper quiet with its full street exhaust on.

Theres not much louder then a 20B turbo drag car.

Have you got a spare 47k?

If you knew what parts they use then you could assemble it yourself for much less money. An atomic bottom end can be had for around 4.5k so that's a start.
