Ok. I'm now looking to upgrade the exhaust and am looking to improve flow and also get a good "V8" rumble happening. What have you guys done and approx. cost? I'm looking at cat back as previous owner installed extractors not long before I bought it, but rest of the exhaust looks pretty tired

for a V8 i'd get a single 3" fitted with a single straight through muffler, but im sure most people here will say 3" is overkill

I have a single 3" one hight flow muffler and rear resonator. Has a awesome rumble.

I had a single 2.5" with a single muffler and sounded really good too, just a bit drony at 70-80 kmhr.

if you use your stock cats and headers, go a 2 and a half Y pipe into a 2 inch muffler that dont have the offset in it. use 3 inch from the muffler to the back of the car dont use the resernator.

get it mandrule bent dont wast your money on press bent.

ive got pacemaker ph4000's ceramic coated, stainless 2 1/4 y pipe into two 2 1/2 high flow metal core cats (think thats what they are) 1 lukey race series muffler and stainless mandrel bent 2 1/2 inch pipe from cats back.
sounds real nice. prety quiet on idle but you can hear her for miles when you give it a hard time.

ph4000's -$900
cats -$400 each
muffler -$300

cant remember how much the stainless pipe was but it wasnt cheap.

if you get pacemaker ph4000's get them ceramic coated, as they will out live the car, if you dont they will rust out as they are mild steal, and the 302 has a habbit of building up moisture in the muffler.

Are the ph4000's extractor's?? If so I don't need extractors as mentioned in my first post :? Just looking at cat back exhaust upgrade. This is what I will be getting quotes on:-
2 1/2 from cats back to high flow muffler, then mandrel bent 3 inch out to the rear. Not sure on resonator yet, will see what the installers have to say.

I've been recommended to try Newcastle Exhaust down the road at Bennets Green. Nice bloke there and loves his work. A bit on the rich side. If I wasn't at work this weekend, I could come over to your place and show you my cheapy redback system. I think it set me back about $300. Doesn't sound that bad for a cheap system.

I'd also have a chat to Danny at Toronto. Knows his stuff and another top bloke.

i have a EB XR8 running twin 2.5 inch all the way to the back, it took a bit of work to run the twins out the back but it is worth it . i also have an EB fairmont ghia wagon running a twin 2.5 inch exhaust with a pair of lucky mufflers sounds like the good old 70's v8 i also picked up about 100km extra out of a tank of fuel ( h/way driving). don't let them talk you into a single system no matter how big it is it still dosn't have the same sound or power. The wagon had a 2.5 single system when i got it and the diffrence is like chalk and cheese. go the twin.
