Finally.

Series 1 1997 XR8... Clean as a whistle..manual. 105,000kms. Stock as a rock. $10,500.00.....

Now for the list of bits I have in my little (very well locked) shed.

Scat 347 Crank
Scat H beam roads
KB 30 thou pistons
Holley Alloy Heads ported (2.02in 1.6ex)
Crane R.R 1.6
FMS X303 Cam w/roller lifters
Roller Push rods
Crane Billit Electronic Distributor
Crane HI-6 Ignition System
Crane LX-92 Coil
Wolf3d V4 ECU
BBK SSI Injection Manifold w/Fuel Rails and 70mm TB
FMS 42lb Green top injectors
Romac Balancer
Yella Terra Flywheel
Centreforce Dual Friction Clutch Kit
All ARP Head studs and main studs
ARP bolts for everything else
Windage tray
Main girdle
Davies Craig Electric water pump and controller
March Performance Billit Pulley Kit
Pacemaker Headers
Moroso Tall deck Rocker Covers
Tailshaft Loop
Tremec Extra HD 5 Speed w/ B&M Short Shifter

Thats about my part list... I'll drive the car through winter and then start building....

A question though.. I'm a bit perplexed as to what sort of induction/filter set up to run, whether I run a SS induction, a pod filter or make my own...

So any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm going to look at getting at least 330-350rwkw.

Thanks..

for the intake you could go with the air box fitted the T3 5.6L cars and the BA XR8. fitted with a K&N filter

i just noticed you last line. at that power you might want to start looking a stronger block. you'r might not crack but it will for sure be flexing a huge amount

An EL GT intake with K&N panel filter is nice and cheap and very effective. $300 on an SS induction is throwing away money in my opinion.

For that much power (wanting 330+RWKW) I'd say the SS snorkel would be useful. Wasted money on a stock 6, but very useful on high breathing turbo'd or big cube donks.

330-350rwkw is that even attainable with this sort of setup? I would have thought 240-260rwkw would be a closer ballpark figure for this sort of setup, otherwise where's the forced part of it?

Thats what I was about to post...

Especially if you are still going to use the standard manifold (which I assume from the question about air intake). Unless your going forced that is..

No standard manifold.

I got the BBK SSI manifold from the states. Much better than most manifolds I've seen here.. My question over intake, is more the pipework and airbox or pod from the throttle body to an intake area. As I'm running the wolf, there is no need for a MAF.

Yeah.. I thought it was too good to be true, until I put it up on the hoist, and went over it all.... The guy was about to go overseas and needed cash quick. Just right place, right time.

Yeah probably...

But a S/C bolted on is just gonna shorten the life of an engine... Then you still need to do some work.. The stock heads, injectors, inlet, ECU all won't cope with a S/C... That and you just can't beat the sound of a worked N/A V8!!!
