Just down a 580km tank on my XR8 in its current modded state (see signature below) with the air con on the whole time and its all suburban/city driving.
Thats crazy!

The air con was on the whole time because I had it regassed and it leaked slowly last time so they have extra dye in it this time and told me to run it as much as possible.

But geez 580km from a V8 in the suburbs with air con.

That definately seems pretty low Timmeh.
Maybe get that thing to a dyno and check AFR's at all driving conditions. It could be running fairly lean.

Either that or you been driving like a nana

I'm not complaining I'm just surprised. I reckon thats awesome.

I'd expect without air con on and doing a highway run I should get 750-800Ks.

Don't hold your breath on those figures.

Mine gets 400km/tank no matter whether it is city or country driving. :(

That's why I use the bike so much.

Thats fkn awesome for an 8. My 6 will get 600km to a tank with mostly city sort of driving, but on the hwy itll hiy over 800 no worries, I'd imagine the 8 would be similar.

You must drive like a nana mate! I only get about 400 odd km out of my BA XR8 and thats with a 6 speed manual and about 500km out of my ED V8 on gas. I wouldn't put much value in the theory of air con on/off with a modern V8. They hardly work hard with the aircon on.

But the BA's suck the juice hard.If my car was still stock, i would beat my old mans BA Ghia V8's economy.I used to get 800km out of a tank of the EL on the Hwy, and about 550-600km around town.
