Who knows of the fastest quarter mile time from a totally stock internally 5.0,including all the ho gear in an eb-el falcon, fairmont.
Just wondering how much i could squeeze out of my 5.0 ho before having to change manifolds and heads, maf,tb etc.
Naturally aspirated

Gut the thing Shannon!!!

And get Pete to drive it, that'll cut off a few tenths. :D

Honestly though I don't know what the fastest 'unopened' HO time would be, its not something a lot of people would attempt I guess, but I know there are guys in the US making over 250rwhp from E7 heads and HO manifolds (albeit ported and with camshafts changes)

Thanks for your enlightened response. I feel a lot smarter now.

The HO refers to the 'High Output' 5.0L which was fitted to the EB-EL1 Falcons, with a whopping 165kw.

Haha High output my a***.

I reckon it'd be Kilma's Green ef XR8, though he has airpump feeding the motor.

I know scaffy's ran a couple of 14's with the HO Gear and tuned with a tweecer, if i remember correctly was about 211 rwhp, had underdrives, exhaust but everything below the rockers down was standard.

Remember he said N/A.
Personally i think it would be possible to get a N/A EB 5.0 running E7's and HO manifold to run a 13.9.
Obviously firstly with a well built driveline. Built and shift kitted auto, hi-stall short diff gears and a nice tight LSD. Some DOT radials aswell.
The E7 heads would have to be as heavily ported as possible same goes for the HO manifold. Shave heads for max possible compression.
Cam is up to the critics. Some may say standard cam has to stay, if so 1.7 rockers would be a must. Other may say a cam change is allowed, if so something fairly mild like the E-303 would be the go i reckon, 1.6's or 1.7's will obviously depend on P/V clearance.
T/B would be 65mm, MAF 70mm, decent flowing intake set-up pre-maf and between MAF and T/B.
24lb injectors and a tune to suit. Surely a tune is allowed.
All the other things like decent headers, exhaust and underdrives etc are a no brainer.
Obviously make sure everything else is healthy, ignition, cooling, fuel system etc.
Last of all some lightweight work to the body of the car and i think we'd almost have ourselves a potential 13 sec HO equipped E-series.

IMO the cost of doing all this may not be worth it with re-using the E7's etc, but if all the work can be done yourself includng the porting and you can pick up the goodies for cheap it could well give good bang for your buck.

Shannon, are you putting your hand up? ;) I have some E7 heads and a HO manifold you can attack with the die grinder

Yes but head porting is no longer Unopened?

I always thought (considering the ls1 crowd and Ba/bf) that anything under the rocker covers is part of the motor, only valve springs, oil pump gears and the rest is all not allowed to be touched as it is then opened.

No doubt the with a properly set up car with 4.11 good tune, high stall , exhaust and a shelled out car, a 13 could be seen.

I ran a 13.9 on a dead stock motor, stock heads, cam, exhaust, auto fairmont, stock 3.45 diff. I did however use a lot of NOS and it was a dry setup. Hell i went 13.3 at 105 on E7's

Well F$#* me, let me make this clear to you.

"It would be possible to run 13.9 using a naturally aspirated 5.0 EB with HO manifold and E7 heads"

Yes the thread is titled unopened but nowhere in my post did i say unopened.
