I thought that 4 stud wheels were all 13's the commercials had 14's but five stud and it wasn't until the XR that sedans had 14's. Not saying there not, just didn't know. Regards TPVM.

nah dont put a 2v head on a 170. they are a pile or crap. they rev to slow and are weak. 221 or a 250. ive built 4 2v's for my xp and found the 250 was the best. it made 160kw@the wheels @6800rpm

XP Fairmonts were the only ones to have 14 inch, 4 stud wheels, this was to clear the disc brake calipers. They're rare items now days and were probably rare in those days. Commercials had 5 studs but were 13 inch I think. XR onwards all went with 5 studs and 14s. Got my nice little 200 motor now so happy with that. I picked up another 200 that is a wide block. I'll probably sell that one now I have the narrow block motor. Think the wide block is a bit of a hottie, has 250 head and looks to have a cam grind of some sort just by watching the rockers as you turn it over. Exhaust valves are still open for a bit while intake is opening. Going to run it in the next few days hooked up to a radiator and see what it's like.
