Hi is it possibLe to fit springs & shocks from an AU1 into an EF? Are the shocks usabLe if springs are not? Cheers...

I wouldn't say ridiculous but I don't think it really would be worthwhile. The front end is different and there may be issues with the shock fitting properly at the bottom. The springs are the same diameter at the TOP where they fit into the top housing, the top housing and rubber saddle have been the same since ED falcons.
I guess the main issue is ride height. I have never done the conversion nor have I had the 2 setups side by side so, I really can't give you a 100% go for it. Maybe someone else will come along and give you a bit more info. Ha, just as I finish my reply Phantom gives the 100% cert

Hey yeah I'm keen to do as my EF is an EX NZ poLice (OPTION20) owned vehicLe fitted with biLstein suspention which is in need of rebuiLding at 230k. A set of AU HOT BITS front height adjustabLe shocks and coiLs and unadjustabLe rear shocks and coiLs aLL new and unused have come up on a Local auction site 4 saLe, Thinking of removing my shocks to have rebuiLt but thought this maybe a good option to fit as needing EF mobiLe 24/7. I'm a shift worker so pubLic transport is out of the question.. Have been offered this new setup for NZ$300

Yes Ben, AU and BA/BF taper down. The top of the spring is the same but the bottom isn't.
