Just a quick question. What are the differences betweeen the Auto fitted to the EF, and the Auto fitted to the AU (apart from the dipstick)?

Will my Old EF Auto fit into my Dad's AU? What modifications would need to be made to get the EF box in there. His has s**t itself, and mine was very strong. I only taken it out of the car for a manual conversion.

Any input would be appreciated

Should fit and run fine.
I've got an EBII model in my EF now worries, I've also had an EA 3 speed in it running fine!

The extension housing will need to be swapped over, they are different.
There are some slight changes in side, solenoids and stuff, but will work.

It is, but that is the engine. I am not touching the engine. All we are doing is removing an auto gearbox from an AU, and putting in an EF one.

Should be a straight swap , bell housing excluded.

The mounting points for the box mount. They are in a different spot. The AU has a way different box crossmember.

I didn't think there was any difference in the mounting positions in six's, just V8's have a mounting position further back but I could be wrong.
