Am I correct in thinking that EL transmissions do not have a dipstick/filler tube? If I am, how do you put fluid in it or check levels? If I am not, please ignore my ignorance.

Na they dont have a dipstick, which is pretty annoying.

i believe they do. the hole is there, just plugged up.

only reason I know this, I put a box out of an EL into an EF, had to remove the plug to put ths dipstick in.

In the box we pulled out of an EL, it was cast without it. You would have to take the box apart, and then drill out the hole.

That's right, if it is an original EL housing the hole is not drilled.

EF S11 onward deleted the filler tube and requires drilling the caseing to put one in. You need to fill it like a manual, from the side of the box till it overflows.

If you supported the box up-side-down and drilled the hole and picked out any swarf, might that be a way of fitting a dipstick?
