Will the rear brake package from the typhoon (PBR calipers in brembo package) fit an AU3 IRS Rear?
I believe the front brembo from the typhoon will fit on the AU3 just unsure on the rear. Need to know if callipers fit and if the rotors will fit. Cheers Dazza |

It would be trial and error I guess. The backing plate that has the hand brake shoe on it is different on the BA sedans IRS and I don't think these backing plates will fit your system. The main problem I think would be the mounting of the calipers themselves. The bolt pattern for the caliper is the same but distance to the back plate could be different.

Not definitive, but an idea.
If you look at the PBR P-Series brake upgrade kit, the seem to use the same rear caliper for the AU2/3 and the BA. Only difference is the AU uses a spacer between the caliper bracket and mount. Not sure if its because of the style of disc they use, etc, etc, but it seems to suggest the only difference is a small movement of the caliper inboard to make it fit. Have you got a set of Brembo fronts for your car. If not, I'd like to put a plug in and say I have a set of 4 piston fronts for sale... With disc and pads.

But I probably should have looked at the DBA catalogue too and noticed that the rear disc for the BA/BF 8mm (59mm vs 51mm) higher than the AU disc. If you compare a standard BA to AU rear disc, all other measurements are idenical bar the diametre. So might point at the discs being a direct working swap, just needing the right caliper.
So to me that means the Typhoon disc will sit alot more inboard than a standard one, which is hopefully taken up by they design of the caliper and its bracket... Or maybe FPV put a spacer between the bracket and mount... Even that has me curious now, might have to look at my car. Unless Papa can look up his catalogue and see if there is a spacer or not in the FPV's. |

I know its been some time since this topic was active..... i've acquired a set of the rear typhoon PBRs for my Au2 (its non IRS) and would love to fit them....any thoughts or tips??

The AU's ran a BTREng IRS system....the BA/BF are completely different.
It will be a lot of trial and error and make your own parts.

This is covered on AFF. You need to make a 3mm spacer for the caliper to move inboard.

i'm going to be fitting standard BA turbo rear brakes to the AU IRS setup i fitted to my EL. So i'll let you know how i go

AU1 or AU2?
Thought BA turbo brakes are the same as standard BA brakes, which the rear end is the same as AU2 onwards. |

Hi guys, some time ago i fitted my BF typhoon rear brakes (same as territory rears) onto my AU series 2 and though i'd share my experience. The only modification you need is a 3mm spacer to offset the caliper from fouling on the rotor. It is very obvious when you actually see it. I initially used some washers till i had a chance to make up an alloy plate. Everything else was a simple swap. They are significantly bigger and look great too.
FYI the front typhoon brakes are a direct swap. You will just need to make sure your rims clear the MUCH larger caliper.  If anyone wants pictures or more info let me know. ODge |

The PBR2 rear calipers bolted straight onto my AU2 LTD. Note that I also used the FPV disc..

Ahhh ok, i also used the FPV disc. Either way, its not that difficult to fit these to your AU2 or 3.
