Hi Guys,

I am converting my AU XR8 from auto to T56 manual.

My question is- Will I need to change the tailshaft length. Apparently the auto tailshafts are Ok for T56, but not for T5. Is this correct?

cheers

No, this is incorrect. A T56 is the same length as an AU T5

If you need the tailshaft modded or balanced, go see Phil at Final Drive Engineering, in O'Connor. He will sort you out. 8-)

Thanks 67RCE,

so if I get a AU XR8 manual tailshaft from the wreckers that should be fine?

The auto tailshafts are longer than the manual tailshafts so it wont work.

You will need a manual tailshaft.

You will need a 31spline yoke to suit the T56
and it's cheaper to get your original tailshaft shortened then buying a manual AU tailshaft. (not many AU's are manual and wreckers want big dollars for them)
