Just wondering how much it cost to get a fuel pump replaced by a mechanic?

In a sedan, not a lot of work, maybe 45 mins, tops. A wagon is a different story, as the tank has to be drained and the pump accessed from underneath. a real pain.

by the way its an AU XR6 sedan 2002 model.
Just hard finding time to do it myself where I could get someone to do it for me while I am at work.

Shouldn't really cost a lot. I reckon the cost of the pump and the gasket will be more than the labor.

about $100 for pump and $25 for gasket

why don't you pick up the phone and make few a short phone calls. guaranteed the prices you are given from local mechanics and parts places will be more accurate than prices you are given on here.

EDIT: but if you are going to ask the question on here, at least post it in the correct section.
Fuel pump replacement questions are not engine specific, and there for belong in the ECU and FUEL system section, NOT the 6cyl ENGINE section.

Cubic Inches to Liters = Cubic Inches X .01638
CCs to Cubic Inches = CCs divided by 16.38

ebay $65 delivered and its a vdo just like the original .2 months on and pump still goin strong ,car starts alot better :mrgreen:
