Ok ive brought an eb xr6 thats been converted to manual, im not sure if eb's came out with the twin thermo's on the radiator, but its got them as well... The thermo's are constantaly running, its not a bad problem but i wouldnt mind fixing it. Ive heard you can put a resistor somewhere to stop this but where abouts and what ohm resistor.

EB's had a mechanical fan factory. Looks like the previous owner fitted them./ I appears as though they have been hooked up to the ignition. You will need to fit a switch. I know Davis Craig have one. I chose to drill and tap a hole in the thermostate housing (don't think it'll work on I6, but you can find a spot) and fitted a switch.
They come on when the egine needs it. BTW you will need a A/C override. |

Our EBII Fairmonts got the single big fan, it's on almost constantly, comes on about 15 seconds after starting the car. The temperature gauge either does work or always says freezing cold aswell. THink there might be something wrong...

yea the previous owner must of fitted the new fans... oh well... it isnt a big deal they r just noisy

Not as noisy as the clutch fans! You can also hook a manual switch up to somewhere in the cabin (eg under the steering column, or next to the rear demist button), and turn the fans on or off as you need them.

Mine are hooked up to cut in at a certain temperature. Have a chat with an auto elec for the best way...it's not too tricky to do.

The switch that can be put in the thermostat housing. Is it temp activated? Designed to come on at a certain temp?

Mine was double switched. 1 side of the relay trigger went to the fuel pump relay output, and the other to a switch in the cabin. That way they would only run if the car was running, but you coudl choose to turn them off for freeway driving if you desired. Also, you only need 1 of the fans running if they will be running full time. With just 1 fan running full time you will find the car will run bloody cold. Cheers
