Anyone tell me what wire does what on the 3 pin connector for the speed sensor on the gearbox?

There are 3 wires, one is Black/Green (earth) and there is Red and White wire as well, the best I could tell you is that the Red would be power and the White is the signal pick up for the speedo?

I figured as much. Only difference is I have blue, white and black.
I guess black is the earth, blue is the 12v in and white is the pick up?

Is there a way to check the pulses with a multimetre to confirm? The speedo is over $300 and I dont really want to break it.
