I'm looking to start initially with a setup which doesn't require an aftermarket ecu eg wolf/motec etc to run but it has to do better than my current setup with the cam with 151rwkw.

Is this still a worthwhile idea or should I stick with the n/a setup eg and do the headwork I need for my dev 5 cam ?

If it is still a worthwhile idea :

- How much power will the manual take before giving up the ghost ?

- Can I leave the dev5 cam in there or should I go a turbo grind cam ?

- Can anyone recommend suggested turbo's and parts that are suitable for what I want.

- Can the Unichip handle any of the duties associated with having a turbo bolt up ?

- Any suggestions on intercooler sizes ?

Is stuff like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 68223&rd=1 on ebay an adequate size ? What dimensions, core size etc are important for a low boost (initially) application ?

I guess I'd like to get some costs first and see how it goes. If I do anything it'll likely be at tax time but if I can start getting bits now it'd be even better.

T5's can take alot of power but don't abuse them with decent tyres etc.....Mine handled over 300rwkw but I never power shifted or shock loaded it...T5 V8..

That i/c is the same size as mine...

Joe from Crescent Motorsports did an AU XR6 Turbo not long ago for Alex (if you guys remember from dyno day, the red au xr6 with the eagle decals on it that was there)..

I think from memory was a super t70 on there, stally on the auto, 3.9 diff, pulling a rough 180rwkw (not peak-shootout, a constant-average reading)

But that was bit of extreme kit that he put on there, so he has other kits more suited (smaller turbo's etc) .. my suggestion is to give him a cal and maybe go up and hav ea look as the au xr6-turbo will be up there soon again getting some more mods done ..

alternatively you can get the stage kits from Joe now to, up to stage 5 like jmm and its, probably best you call him on (02) 9600-6229 and have a chat to him about what yo uwant and how much you want to spend?

Cool, Joe did my cam and I do recall him mentioning and AU that was done. I'll have to pop round and have a chat with him.

Thanks!

Mate the info on top was "super T70" that Fusion posted. There was no info on trim, wheel inducer/ exducer sizes etc..These are fitted to smaller engines...With smaller A.R....
Having said that 180 rwkw is no big deal then if turbo is rated at "650"...
I was not bagging the instalation etc...I assume the tune like injectors etc are trimming power levels down ???....
Also capable of whatever power level the turbo would be at 30 Lb boost...

They are crap turbo's imo...If they are these...

Yep 15Lb should be over 250 rwkw..It all about total package fuel delivery, spark etc.. Then be SAFE...Best start low and work up....

Here's a bargain...http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... :B:BN:AU:1
