i have just bought a 94 ed wagon i have an aftermarket remote that locks and unlocks all doors except tailgate it doesn't have a boot button just a lock button and an unlock button i know this model has smartlock but i do not have the light flashing at all when car is off on or anything. could it be just a dash globe problem or something else car starts and runs fine except that abs light is constantly on any help would be appreciated

If there is no smart lock light at all you may find the car has had a bypass module installed.

And if you have an aftermarket central locking setup then perhaps smartlock played up at some stage and was bypassed.

To check this, remove the passenger side footwell cover and see if there is a small black box wired into the loom that plugs into the ECU.

As for the ABS light, checking all the sensors at each wheel are plugged in ok may be a start, however I don't have ABS myself (I won't get anything after smartlock) as the technical crap involved in diagnosing is infinitely frustrating..

I'm having issues with my fuel pump not priming properly.. But only when the engine is warm/hot.. As I said.. Infinitely frustrating!
