Everything you need to know ^^^^^^^^^

You actually can't do it QLD, as the working for it is original vehicle weight times 2.5 = max engine size in cc for a turbo/supercharged replacement engine.
The rotory equivalence is capacity times 2. so a 13B is a effectively 2600cc.
the escort mk2 is listed as 909kg times 2.5 = 2272cc max engine size if turbo/supercharged

If you could be bothered to read the link I posted you wouldn't need to ask that question.

For N/A engine swaps it original weight x 3 = engine cc.
Which is 2727cc max engine size for an N/A egnine swap.

Why you would want to ruin an escort by putting rotary engine in it I will never understand.

Your other thread you mentioned SR20 and FJ20.
CA18 will fit pretty easy and make power then you ever put through an escort leaf spring rear end.

Why not put a Ford Mondeo 2 litre EFI Zetec engine into it?

The popular one these days is the 2.3 duratec. there are conversion bellhousing a few decent gearboxes and they out power a zetec any day.

I'm currently doing a MK1 and have been looking into which engines will fit. A Zetec will bolt directly to a pinto 2L clutch and box, but you are best doing what I am and moving all the brakes under the dash for room in the engine bay (WRC pedal set from UK = Ebay, about $400 with master's for a cable clutch). I've lost the link I had, but there is a place here in Australia that can supply mounts etc for turning zetec north/south. Zetec's are just a new version of the old lotus 2L, and easily turbo'd. (can always rego it before you turbo it if worried)

The Zetec is an evolution of the CVH, To the point that you can interchange the heads. Search for ZeVH in some UK sites.

Any thoughts about a bp turbo from a laser or an mx5. parts are pretty easy to get and they will make decent power
