OK, BA MK1 Futura. Door's won't lock at all, even with the key, it just cycles the locks. Have pulled all the actuators and checked the gears and the microswitch and all check ok. Went to an Auto Elec and got the BEM flashed and while manually opening each door, the scantool said that the rear passenger door isnt closing, even tho the actuator is clearly working. Where should i be looking next? If anyone has a detailed knowledge of the locking system id sure love some advice? Yes, i have tried the search feature and read every thread where 'lock' came up and no one seems to have my issue

I had the same problem with a customer's car and sent it to ford who replaced the door actuator. I tested the switch and everything seemed ok but the new actuator fixed it .This is the short version...the long version is 4 hours long .Kevman.

If a NEW lock/actuator doesn't fix it, the BEM is more likely to be the culprit.

im wondering if the door latch itself might not be seating properly causing the system to try locking again? perhaps try taking it out and putting back in again? or even test a new one?

the actuator has the switch as part of it. I have seen many actuators cause this fault. If the door is not closed, the car will not lock
