hi

got a ef fairmont and cruise control doesnt work

brake lights work fine, airbag light flashes and stays on

unplugged switch at brake master cylinder and touched the 2 pins together and still doesnt work

anyone know why

the system requires the pressure switch on master cylinder to switch on & off not just on ,just replace the pressure switch ,i have had to replace 4 on different cars over the years au one is the same

the socket on the pressure switch was a little oily when unplugging the plug from it

would anyone know why the cc doesnt work and the airbag light flashes and stays on

Hi,

May be a fault with the " Clock spring " which is the cable inside the steering column. Look at the error code for the Air-bag, it should help you decide what is wrong.

why wouldnt cruise control work then

I would test the pressure switch for continuity while the pedal is being pressed ,then if the switch is good i would say replace the clock spring as air bag & cruise are connected through the clock spring,ps just because horn still works doesn't mean its not the clock spring (good luck)

now can hear the cruise control actuator trying to engage but it cant

the cable appears to be on properly at both ends

what would that mean

i have the exact same issue, but mine started after i pressed the rest/coast button -_-
