Hey everyone. I finally finished the head gasket guide that I have been working on since I attemped this a while back...and with positive results because the engine is still running.

I did rush the last half of the guide...regarding the timing chain tensioner (which there isn't much to talk about)...and didn't write steps in putting stuff back together, since it is quiet self explanatory.

Also there might some steps/procedures that might not be in the right order...because as I typed things up I remember stuff and then squeeze them in where it is appropriate but not sure if it is correct.

It is a pretty long guide and I believe in depth in some cases. I hope this helps those who need a helping hand in doing a head gasket on their own. Remember that this is a DIY job...so it also comes with DIYSU (Do-It-Yourself-Stuff-Ups). I have no liability to damages caused after an attempt at this...YOU ARE DOING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

Also this is Version 1 which was done from the top of my head (over a period of a year...I can't remember what I did last week), while I am at work using the data I put in this thread...so there are bound to be heaps of errors, I did do a quick proof read (skimming more like it), so if you stumble across an error could you please let me know and I'll try and fix it up as soon as possible and post up a new version as more crap pops up. If there are certain steps in the head gasket guide that need refining, are completely wrong, or outragesly stupid, please let me know so I can correct them.

Hope this helps some people :D

That's pretty cheap! I didn't use an impact drive because I didn't have one at the time, but managed to get it off. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a 14mm bolt...someone else might be able to pitch in on that.

awesome job phongus, I would've had a few issues without this sticky, I found it easier to remove the BBM by separating upper and lower parts prior to removal and install, and I also removed the wiring loom for the injectors, crank and cam sensors etc. Thanks again.
