What would the 5 speed gear box in the au xr6's what kind of power would htey be able to handle?? Would a new gear box have to be on the cards if you wanted 250 - 300kw at the wheels?

Yep. I'd say 250kw at the wheels would really be pushing it...
Not much point having that much power if you have to nurse the box around....

so how much would a new gear box cost??? one that could handle the power.....????
im trying to work out if i want to supercharge or get a dev5 cam kit ... but i want a bit more power then 170 at teh wheels i would like 200 that would be good... could you get that out of the NA engine? |

For 250-300rwkw you really need to look at turbo setups. A Vortech blower will do it but a turbo is easier, even then its a lo of work for that type of power. The stock 5 speed is good for around 200rwkw if you are nice to it, after that you are looking at the tremec range which will set you back $3k+

Supra box's are alittle stronger than T5's but for the cost go TKO or atleast 3550 tremec...Btw the latter T5's are branded tremec's ...
