AU1 is marginally different to the EL - mainly extra leads for the Amp outputs.

After trying to find a pinout listing for a while I finally gave up and stripped down my Head Unit - lo and behold FMS saw fit to label the pinouts on the circuit board

Assuming others have hit this same problem I have documented the info below:

Appologies for the rough and ready photos (cheap camera) and the rudimentry "Socket Diagrams" (drawn in Exel - well, what else do you expect from an ex Ford Service Manager turned Accountant?)

Note this is for the Premium Sound as fitted to a Oct 99 AU1 Fairmont Ghia and may differ from other AU1 head units....

Cheers

James

Hi Guys,

This may be a long shot, but I am hoping someone can help me.

I am having trouble following the instructions provided in the Tech documents regarding the install of the aux input.

I look at the picture showing the "to stacker" and "to dsp" and the wire colours are confusing me as those colours do not exist.

Can anyone give me a hand?

Thanks

Hay mate i have the prem sounds system but my stacker is rooted, cycles through the the disc but doesn't read any of them and say there's no disc. just wondering if i would be able to do this without the stacker having to be invovled?

Hi I am new here but I am wondering the same,

I do not have the CD magazine for my stacker but it works.

I'd like to do this mod or I'm gonna have to go for a head unit change and I'd like to keep all the EQ presets on the DSP.

Incidentally - anyone know where I can buy a cheap ford magazine for the stacker?

thanks!
