which is one reason i don't really follow the 'supercars' [altho i do watch sum of it lol] plus was just a two horse race

mayb next year cheer on the ............ volvo

Ohhhh so true. BA/BF Falcons = 5.4L V8. Supercars 5.0L V8

Holden 6.2L V8 or 6.0L V8. Supercars 5.0L V8

Also had Live Axle when the street cars had IRS. Front suspension had more in common with E series than a BA/BF. On & on I could go.

Bring back production cars for Bathurst. :D

Im a firm believer that the cars are really nothing close to what we drive neither and the category needs to go back to production based vehicles.
Alas the sheep in the world don't see it that way so its at least nice to have the same badge as whats on my car win.

Race bog stock SS and xr6 turbo?

Put it in price categories like it used to be long ago.
There would always be the big guns going for overall victory , but the class wins held a lot of respect as well.
Then you would see R8 , SS's , XR6T and F6's on the track together.
Would give a good show of what they are like in the real world.
The only reason series production hasn't taken off in Australia is the lack of air time and it gets no air time because the V8 supercar circus has the money to make sure it doesn't get any.

Would be great to see the production cars out there. ( before my time), but do you reckon that if they did that there should be a power limit, money spent ect to make it even?

There never used to be a power or money limit , but there was a set of homogulation rules that needed to be followed.
The smart players knew the rules inside out and followed them. They knew them so well so they could exploit the rubbery parts of the rules................................

best bit of Bathurst was on Saturday, the muscle car masters. Good to see cars that I can relate to...2 XB coupes in that race, plus lotsa nice XY's etc. Hell, I'd even rather watch HQ's race than the V8 slotcars....

Before anyone claims "FORD WINS", just look at how much the V8 Supertaxis have in common with your street FG, same applies to General Motors s**t as well.

I remember reading in one of the car magazines (may have been Top Gear Aust mag) that there are only 20 or so parts from the production car on the V8SC, and these were all only asthetic parts such as lights, indicators, door handles and things like door hinges.

Production cars would be awesome i agree.
But. Even though the FG supercar is only a shell to our Road car it still represents the road car and still carries our blue flag. Would have hated to see Holden win another year in a row.
That alone makes me happy.
