Hello I am about to undertake a T5 manual conversion into my currently automatic EF falcon and I was after some guidance as to the best way to set up the pedals. After looking through this page and others I have found 3 different options (thus far). Option one is to source and fit a manual pedal box from an EF falcon although I have heard it is a big task and they are susceptible to breaking. Second option is to use a mal wood clutch pedal pin but once again I have heard these are susceptible to breakage (I understand anything could break but these are known for easily and prematurely breaking.) and the third option is to modify the existing automatic pedal box as shown in the thread on - http://www.boostedfalcon.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=10114

Please help me with this decision! Any other methods would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Ive done the pedal box swap, and pulled it back out to weld when it cracked..

Converting an auto box still involves removing the pedalbox from the car..

Ill be getting the mal wood kit when I do my next one.
the design has been reviewed and they use 10mm plate now and an extra bolt. so they seem pretty strong..

Its not that hard to remove the dash, just takes time getting all the screws an some of the clips will break.

for $110 and 30 mins the pin kit looks worth it.

Get a MalWood pin...much easier than ripping the dash out to put a box in. Going to convert mine back to auto and not looking forward to pulling the pedal box back out.

It's been revised I believe, and made from 10mm plate, with an extra bolt hole that lines up to an existing hole for extra strength.

It's pretty sturdy looking. I'd say it will work well as it is.

Also look at getting a firewall reinforcement plate done up at the same time or soon after.

i wouldnt worry about it,my MW pin looks like it will hold up.

If you have a welder, you could make your own pin - as you can see in XR_Lane's doco (IIRC he posted that on here too)another brake pin end can be used. Weld a base plate to a cut down pin, and have another plate slip over the pin on the other side.

I'm trialling hydraulic clutch setups, so to make pedalbox remove/install easier, make the T piece a separate component.
