I'm beginning the process of installing Focal 3-way splits into my FG XR6.
The tweeter has squeezed into the factory A-pillar location but I am unsure on which way to go with the door. Unfortunately some custom work is going to be required but I'm hoping not on the same scale and budget as my previous car (see attached image).

The 2 speakers to go in the door are approximately 4.5" and 6" in diameter. Has anyone seen 2 similar speakers mounted in the door of an FG?

I can either put the 4.5" speaker in the factory location angled towards the listening position, with the 6" mounted flat in a custom trim lower on the door, or, put the 6" flat in the factory location with the 4.5" speaker angled in a custom trim lower on the door.
There's pros and cons for both. I think the smaller speaker in the factory location will sound better - but it will result in much more cutting of the door and a bigger custom trim to fit the 6" in.
