just wondering if I would have any problems putting a 2004 fairmont v8 into a 1995 XG ute?
also want to know if the same 2004 fairmont v8 could be used in a 1958 Jaguar mark IX, not sure if anyone here will know that info but best to check. and the same again with a 1946 international KB13 this time? any info would be appreciated thanks guys. |

The 5.4 will fit in an XG ute. there's about 12mm to spare between the shock towers.
I've dummied a 6.8L V10 into an XG and that was the clearance. The 6.8 is just a 5.4 with two more cylinders. As for the other two cars; get your tap measure out. |

I mean bolt on wise, how much messing around is it? can I buy ready to go mounts or do I need to make them myself, or does it bolt on to the original mounts?

There's lots of custom work to do. It won't just bolt in. You'd make frame mounts to suit the Modular engine mounts.

are there any forums or how to's anywhere that can help with that?
or even just some pictures of some mounts that you or someone else has done? just need a basis to go off as I don't want to have the engine fall out... |

Not really.
What I do is make a pointer for the crank centreline of your existing engine. Get your trans posi worked out then dangle the engine in between with the mounts loosely attached. Then you can measure for the frame mounts you'll need to fabricate. |
