hey all just curious recently bought a au fairlane 5.0l and did a plug change noticed evidence of the running lean any things i can do to check/change to fix problem thanks

What are you basing that on. The colour of the spark plugs? They should be a ceramic colour but with efi spark plug readings aren't much value anyway.

Ok.. well they were a real red orange look a mate rekoned it was lean i guess thing is when i i been towing or driving a bit hard the cats STINK and i seem to use fuel jus from a 30k trip ill use 1/4 tank of juice

I'd be looking at the exhaust first, if the cats have collapsed or are blocked, everything upstream will suffer.
On the fuel burn side of things, if its going through that much fuel start looking at the maf and hego's as well. if it was lean then it would be light on fuel no heavy on fuel.

Blocked cat is a real probability. Or failed hego's.
