Hi
I was hoping someone has had experance with Megasquart MS3X V3.57 and VVT control/settings.
I have a BA falcon and have control of fueling and ignition but cannot get the settings correct for VVT control.
If anyone can help please post and I'll explain where I'm at with the settings.
Cheers
Mark.

Nobody?
OK, So are the cams an on/off type e.g. Fully advanced or fully retarded only, or, variable position control? and do the FG models work the same.
I understand the BA's cams work together and the FG are independant.
Cheers.
Mark.

I often look at the variable valve timing in the fords when I am looking for problems. With live scan data I can see both cams advance and retard with duty cycled oil pressure from the ecu, through oil control solenoids, depending on load rpm temp and start up in is the fully advanced position.
I hope this information helps as I am not sure what you mean.

Hi Rod
Some early VVT systems were only fully advanced OR fully retarded, no hold duty in between.
the later VVTs are continuously variable, meaning the cams can be held at any position in between
fully advanced and fully retarded.
So when you look at your scan data on a BA, dose the ECU HOLD the cam at different positions, e.g. some where in between full advanve and full retard.

They are both variable, there is an advance and retard port in the phaser and the oil control valve directs the oil into the port for advancing or the port to retard, it is amazing to watch. Both cams are variable over a 60 degree of crank angle and when cruising both cams sit around 40% duty cycle.
What that corresponds to in duration I have no idea, this is for a six cyl straight gas bf.
