Hi guys,
Have just got a full set of custom made seat covers, front and back, for my '05 XR6, which include a cover section for the side bolsters in the rear. However i am at a loss as to how to remove these bolsters to allow for fitting (and they have to be removed, as the covers have three tie strings which go around the back of the bolster).
Has anyone removed these before or know how to? Pictures would be great.
Thanks!

If they are like the E series ones they unscrew.

Okay, so after some careful pulling the bottom section of the bolster was able to be unclipped, though i can't seem to free the top section? Surely this has been done by plenty of you guys? Excuse my inexperience lol.
Thanks.

As for E series,
unscrew big round knob that seat latches to.
Remove bolt from bracket behind seat cushion.
Lift bolster straight up towards roof, it sits on a hook at the top.

Thanks nalane, but no such luck with your method on my BA, doesnt seem to be the same setup unfortanely :/
I've seen a few instances on her where the bolsters have been removed (permanently lol) so i know it is definately possible, though unsure as to how to do it without damage :/

from memory there is one clip on either the top or bottom of the bolster at the back. the other end then has a plastic hook type tab moulded onto the back of the bolster. once the first clip is disengaged, lift up slowly as you pull forward. if i remember i had the base of the rear seat out when i did this, to do that push the whole base back firmly and lift up.

Remove the seat base (lift up, then pull forward)
Undo 10mm bolt at the bottom of the bolster
Slide bolster up until it releases and remove from car.

These instructions appear not to be valid for BA/BF.

You actually don't have to unscrew the bolt - you can HEAVE it out and slide it out leaving the bolt behind.... HH_EEEEE_AAA_VE!

I just put seat covers on my BA Falcon. OK pull the rear base straight up it comes out easy . You can then see the bolts for the back support section of the seat. Too get the side bolsters out there is a spring clip at the top which clips into the boot wall. To remove the bolsters I used a hacksaw blade straight down from the top between the bolster and the parcel shelve . The clip is only down about three inches and takes a bit of feeling for it to locate it. Once the spring clip is depressed the top of the bolster will come out easy and you just lift it off the lower mount
