Was just wondering plan to buy a ed sedan for a project/weekend car and may drop a 5l into it or will be adding the fairmont features or both.

want to ask following incase a ed fairmont full harness or ed fairmont/nc fairlane 5l full harness can’t be found.



1. can a el fairmont/nl fairlane harness be made to fit the earlier e series dash with a few mods by checking diagrams out and soldering new plugs on to get the earlier e series cluster/climate control/trip computer working.


A- if TimmyA can put a AU wiring harness in his EB sedan ... don't see why not.


2. Can the later e series electric cruise control be made to work with the ea-ed steering wheel and ifso what do you need to do to make it work.

A- not sure on that. i know later need resistance changes.


3. Could the power and economy switch in the early e series be made to work in direction it would have with original early e series harness and ecu.

guess if you use the el harness with ed ecu that the switch wouldn’t get reversed.


A- change wiring in plug to suit.


4. Could the ed climate control panel and sensors be made to work with the el harness with a few mods,

the trip computer and cluster could easily be made to work by soldering new plugs and running a wire to temp sensor same with tail lights.


A- have no idea.
