I have an AU2 2001 XR8 ute (200Kw) and a few weeks ago I noticed a vibration/shudder creeping in. It happens just above idol up to around 1300rpm. If I give it a small boot from idol it doesn't really happen. Just light to normal acceleration. So...... I've changed plugs, leads, new engine mounts, checked gearbox mounts no luck. I took it to Ford and he put the computer on it and said it was the mass flow sensor. Changed that, still the same. Any ideas?

Cheers
Blake.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Balancer. Looks fine but who knows. Is there visible signs if it's damaged?

I'll send you pic of where your timing marks should be in relation to the encoder teeth.

So, TDC should line up with the leading edge of the 3rd tooth after the missing tooth on the encoder wheel...

You were spot on XR9UTE. On the leading edge of the 3rd tooth it lines up with 35 degrees. Probably not good. Thanks again ;)
