Hey all..
so I’ve completed an auto to manual conversion for the eldest boys first car, so be been able to purchase a manual ecu and gearbox loom.
I’ve found out the wiring loom is different, appears to be EF, which is ok, as the EL has a loom which doesn’t have a plug to swap to a manual harness.
I’ve done the resistor mod, and it runs great..
However, I’d like to run the manual ecu, but when you fitted it, it didn’t start, cranked, but no start.
Is there a process to go through for the ecu to “learn” or is it please g and play, and is there any point if I can’t replace the harness?
I’ve tried the search function, and haven’t hit gold with answers I need, though me and search don’t always go well together.
Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Hi. if it's a EF ECU it won't work on/in the EL. otherwise it's connect everything up & leave ignition on reds for "about" an hour [from memory]. it should then start.

Cheers for the reply, it is actually an EL ecu, it’s just the harness was apparently off an EF..
Wasn’t aware of the hour long trick.. I shall give that a go and cross fingers
