I just got my 9 inch diff back from the diff shop, and it's now bolted in the car.
The uni bolts are different. The old borgwarner was a tapped thread, whereas this 9 inch i have needs a long bolt with a nut. My question is - do you need high tensile longer bolts/nuts, and also, will i need a flat washer behind the nut? I've also noticed the brake hose that runs from the chassis to the diff is VERY close to the exhaust, close being approx 10-15mm. Is this a worry?

Personally i would be putting the flat washer at the bolt head, and the spring washer behind the nut also some loctite on the threads. Use high tensile bolts, grade 8 I believe.

Alright, i got the 2 u-shaped bolts from another diff.
i can't believe they were still there. Another question - Would anyone know where to get new metal brake lines that run to both calipers, as the ones currently on there have been bent severley. i've rang up lots of places, most don't seem to know or don't want to know. cheers.

If it were me id be getting some custom bent, and that way you can get then rerouted away from the exhaust. A local pipe shop, or somewhere like conventrys might do it for you?

coventry's dont seem to do custom stuff, they do the normal stuff.
i even gave pirtek a call, they don't do that stuff yet.

Down here in manji we have a place that does this sort of thing, but thats no real use to you 
Maybe try asking around at places like suspension shops about where they would suggest getting it done? Or you can buy brake line by the metre and get it bent up yourself. Just get one of the purpose built brake line tube benders.

i just bent my original lines straight and used them.
i've now got a slightly spongy pedal, which i think is caused by the old rubber brake lines, as i've bleed the system twice.
