Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can fit a set of NF Fairlane door trims into an EL wagon. As far as I know, the front and rear door trims are the same length.

What about modifying the door trims to accommodate manual window winders?

What about modifying the doors to allow for different door handles?

Any response would be greatly apprecaited.

Yes it can be done, but why cut the trims up when you could also just add electric windows as well as the trims.

Whos cars are we talking about anyway?

What sort of handles are we thinking about here? Anything is possible, but it depends on whether its worth the effort time and money....

its for a mate at work - he doesn't want power windows, only a little more luxury.

Daniel, did you sell your premium sound system head unit from your new car? Can it be used with the amp and subwoofer?

dor handles are identical aren't they? just with the chrome ones instead? i've just thrown the chrome ones into my EF... took a grand total of about 5mins! :P

you'd also be left with a hole in the fabric from the electric winder - i have the same issue in my car at the moment. will eventually fit electrics, but until then i will grab some spare fabric and fill in the hole - i have access to some, so will do so to make it stick out a bit less. to fit the manuals, you woldn't be able to have the armrests in the back - as the winders are right where the armrests are (assuming there are some?). all you'd have to do would be to drill a hole for each winder - pretty simple really

I have EL Ghia doortrims in my EL Wagon...well the wagon has an entire EL Ghia interior - I'd do the electric window conversion...not doing it is soft :)

btw - if anyone is after premo sound...I am selling the entire lot complete - but it's cappucino :)

Cheers,
Steve

ill probably have a grey one for sale soon ....
as in ... after xmas when the systems get changed over.

but yeh, the door trims from the fairlane will have the extra handle bit, so you cant modify them to fit the manual window winders.
you could possibly get some velour trims out of an EA-D ghia or something, but they wont look right.
