my eb is absolutally and totally chewing oil wanting to look after the old girl i spend 50 dollars a bottle and it is getting rather expensive does anyone know what i could do to fix it???????

Is it blowing smoke out of the exhuast and when ( on start up or constantly) or is it leaking out.

dunno i'll have to check, if it was leaking where do you reckon it would come from??

Mate, you have to have a look to see if its dripping under the engine and from where or whether its being burned through the engine and is visible through the exhaust. Incidently if your engine is a dirty mess and you can't see where its leaking from then maybe a bit of a careful steam clean all around it will show you where any oil starts leaking from.

Sounds like it could be the rear main seal leaking (if it drips on the driveway) or the rings are on their way out if it blows smoke. Put some newspaper down under the car overnight to check if it is leaking or get someone to follow you while giving the engine a bit of a thrash to see if it blows smoke.

Could be a few things..But if you are realy conserned at the cost but don't know if its leaking??? When parked over night or short time is there any oil where you parked?
Is it buning oil down heaps dipstick or just the first 10mm ???
Check pcv that its working and if anything not too deep in manifold..
How many Klrs it could be valve guides???
Do compression test or better still a leakdown test...
That checks ring condition...
Check timing it maybe too far advanced???
