hey guys
i was just out driving before and i noticed something strange with my gearbox. I can select what gear i want to be in i.e i hold 1st or second and it just starts off normally. Is this possibly the Soliniod that need cleaning or something? the car drives normally otherwise. its not in limp home mode it still uses all the 4 gears.
does anyone have any ideas on what it could be??

cheers

In which way wont it hold them?

ie does it use 1st and 2nd when held in third, or does it just use all 4 gears regardless?

Same problem I had on my XR8 ... what ever gear you put it in, it seemed to always go into drive, even when I helded it down into 1st, or second ..

replaced the inhibiator switch, and it was all good :)

Pierre (Fuzion) made an A-grade doco on removing and cleaning/replacing the inhibitor switch. Not sure if it's been put back up (im a lazy, lazy man) but damn, it was a quality doco. Pics and all.

Worth a look.
