I dont notice a difference with optimax. I used it over and over again before the optimax shortage. Switched to unleaded during the shortage, didnt notice a difference. Went back to optimax after the shortage, run a few tanks through to flush the system out, still didnt notice a difference.

So you guys reckon the Vortex or the Ultimate will feel more results?

Sometimes with the cost of petrol it can cost anywhere from 10 to 15 bucks extra just to use peformance fuel, filling my 62 litre tank. I dont think optimax is worth it. I suppose I will give the other two a run.

I avoid opticrap like the plague...
havent tried the new vortex 98 stuff yet, but I have a phobia about caltex since I scored a bad fill, and ended up spending a s**t load of money to get the tank drained, new filters, and all injectors cleaned etc etc.

Only used Ultimate or Synergy.

no pinging, good economy, so I am happy.

well it seems that most fordmods V8 owners are using utimate now so it just goes to show that optimax is the least perfomce fuel compared to what the other oil companies have so shell may have to pull their finger out or they will be losing customers as their fuel aint as good and most shell service stations charge optimax the same price as places the sell 98RON fuel so shell is ripping its customers off

Gee you guys have got me thinking as I was an avid Optimax user and now that I hear that they sometimes put regular in to the tank. Pisses me off quite frankly. I am going back to Ultimate now. f**k Oil company scrooges

I run optimax in the fbt now and i do get more kms out of it.
On BP it runs fine but the kms always fall about 50-100kms LESS than with optimax, no matter how i drive to be honest.
My old fairlane loved the BP or Optimax, but drunk mobils synergy; havnt tried the fbt on mobil yet..
Optimax, not driving too easy can give around 350-380kms around town..
Driving half sensible and ill see the other side of 400 and then some!
