Ouch!

Every now and then see one on ebay with looms etc for $2000-$3000.

I can see why not many around, ford didnt sell huge quantities of them (well, compared to the I6). Maybe best to track down a wrecked EB V8 or something?

Lol - dont do anything performance wise?!?!?! What's up with that? Surely they could whack on a decent set of heads, a cam and a decent manifold?

Well the EFI windsor obviously a great, reliable, trustworthy unit... but in stock form its..... not exactly a horsepower hero, lol. You can understand why so many XR6s sold compared to the 8, that's for sure.

well i have owned a EF fairmont I6 it was good but serious the V8 sounds better and s**t all over the I6 at high speeds like 160km+ and the V8 tows trailers with litlle or no effort where as the I6 is not suited to towing as you see people hauling huge a** caravans and they struggle going up hills where as the v8 has the balls to go up hills no problems and the other thing drive a I6 then get into the V8 you will notice the diffrence as every time I borrow the MRS olds EL futura it doesnt even fell right to drive as the V8 you can fell the power but of a*** burn more fuel but hey thats life and V8's should be here to stay for EVA f**k the world drying up of crude oil its people like bin larden & bush who make us pay for fuel

Theres a written off Burgandy EBII Fairmont 5.0 going up for auction at Belmore next week :D

We used BM Higgim bumb when we were operating an XF taxi in the late 80's and they were steep but they did a good job. Martins in wollongong are much better and they are also agents for ACL. When we built a 1.8 holden motor we had a set of ACL dish tops supplied by martins. You can save heaps by just getting them to do the machine work and fit it up yourself.

I got Higgi's (out penrith way) to rebuild my EF XR8 donk about 6 years ago after I cooked it on a bad batch of fuel.

They charged me $2500 for the rebuild and the guy was more than happy to put in place any bolt on parts that I wanted fitted and supplied him with. I supplied him with a B303 cam and he fitted it in whilst assembling.

That motor was still running 100% fine 100000 km later. I still have it sitting on my garage floor at the moment after getting my new one!
