Hey,
have just sold my BA XR6Turbo and am waiting for my Mk2 XR8 ute to arrive. Someone told me to get a flasher unit....what is it exactly?
Benefits, costs, etc...

Urban Dictionary - flasher unit

a) something that is flasher than something else - looks very nice

b) Goes tick tick tick each time you pull the indicator wand down, or push it up - your choice (dont try both at once) - and has some interesting side effects. May be faulty on some BA's and therfore you may have been advised to replace it when you recieve your car

c) Something I have no idea about - go figure

CAPA launched it here in australia

There was a huge amount of stuff on it before FordForums split

Martin Donnon was heavily involved

keep buying your street machine and your zoom magazines, most stock cars (from XT to GTP) gain a good 30/40rwkw with just the flash/edit.

Its a product originally developed by SCT in the US of A - they use a similar ECU to the BA falcs. Few companies here have released em - CAPA, Herrods etc.

Basically allows you to download new ECU maps onto the factory computer. So you get the tunability of aftermarket ecu without...well, an aftermarket ecu, lol.

Can get basic maps to up the stock performance or full tuning capabilties for dyno work/highly modded engines etc.

About $1000 seems to be the going price.

Some questions regarding factory warranty.....
