There is a BF 6speed auto phoon that has run a 12.9, with only a BMC filter fitted.

They use a stall technique that holds the car in 2nd, then drops back to 1st when it launches.

Beat me too it Cam! That is one fast Phoon!

WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a sad moment Frank, I really did love that car she did us well. It wasn't a thought out process but took our standard XT down to TitanFord for a service and fell in love with the typhoon while there, after taking it for a test drive it would of run over the TE and spat her out the exhaust!! Ended up getting a good price for the TE and only lost $9500 over the 3yrs. I heard that a worker at Titan's mate grab her straight away, I just hope they look after her as much as we did. I cryed when we drove away and left her there - so true!!! :( :( :( :(

awww

should have traded in the XT :)

judging by his avatar timmeh it was a series one 200kw 5 litre.
The 6 speed manual phoons aren't that quick, about a flat 14 i'd suggest if you can drive it.

Nothing's quick to you is it fool.

Mate, who are you to call me fool?
How is a low 14 high 13 QUICK for a near new car with a turbo 4 litre six?
yes they have potential, and they are awesome looking cars, but there are quicker cars out there.

And apologies, surely it's a common misconception to assume the wrong gender, and apologies for not being able to dicern your t2 from a t1, small photo and i only glanced at it lol, i mean, 200kw, 220kw not a MASSIVE power difference.

Dude you have no idea do you. those times are bloody quick.

I would like your EL to do a 12.9 ahahahah.

Those things hammer like nothing else. They will see the wrong side of 200kph in no time what so ever. Exhaust, intake and a decent tune they are pumping out 350-450kw.

Well there is not to many standard new cars that will do those sort of times unless you have spent loads of money on them, and then yes you would expect quick 1/4 miles. A new commodore 6 litre 307kw will only do a 13.3. Tell me a faster stock standard car that you know of??????
I know that our mates T3 347 windsor auto with exhaust and airfilter run's 13.7 not bad I would think!!
Least now I don't have to spend heaps of money to get maximum power and run reasonable times.

with good driving you should be able to see a 13.5 with the 6 speed manual.

I couldn't being myself to trade my XT when I got the XR6 :)

Surely a Typhoon should better a flat 14 though.. I would be expecting at least a mid 13, even from a manual. The transmission doesn't cripple them that much does it?

I personally know that it is a lot quicker than our previous cars. Yes we once owned V8 EL which was no comparison to our next trade up the TE50 to now the typhoon. But let me assure you I know all to well that the jap cars are a quicker car if your into that but I'm not looking for a 11 or 12 sec car thats what our old XT in the shed is for!!!!!

Thread tidied up...

YTMONT - Daniel, think twice before hitting the submit button - this is not a pissing contest - have a read of the original question posted.

voxace - Take your flaming offline - the PM system works fine when I last checked it.

Just a reminder for all - the rest of the forum does not wish to read subjective quarreling on here - CONTRIBUTE where you can...else don't start fights in the public eye.
