Yeah but most families or purchasers of those cars don't thrash the s**t out of them like magazine editors do, because they pay $60k+ for them and drive them, service them, wash them, basically keep it maintained.
If i paid $60k for a car, i sure as hell wouldn't flat shift in it, and dump the clutch at rev-limiter!!

Sorry, I disagree. If I bought a sports/performance car I'd use it!

I agree with that to a point. I'd most certainly drive it hard, but not thrash MY car.

That's what I mean. I'd use it. Treat it like it's ment to be treated. The V8's and what not are ment to be opened up, they like it, if they didn't they wouldn't make such a beautiful noise. I wouldn't however go phyco and break/wreck the thing. But I wouldn't drive it like it's just a normal bottom of the line I6 falcon.

yeah i certainly don't p***y-foot around in my car, i give it plenty when i feel, but there is a difference between trashing/thrashing a car and driving it hard.

Well I guess their is a limit too thrashing anything. Cause if you thrash it to that sort of point you probably going to end up in a wall or hitting a Lamp post and killing yourself and others.

Fair go to the mags, fellas. You show me how you would get a reasonable 0-100 time by sitting it on the limiter and dumping it.s**t,my old capri would sit there smoking/spinning,let alone if tried in an XR8..............as for flat shifting, well,no enthusiast would have that little mechanical sympathy and remember,as much as these guys seem to have the perfect job, they are enthusiasts first...........................ESP's 2c worth............
