Just buy a donut tank that fits in the spare wheel well.
They make them you know, Most wreckers would sell them for about $80.

However from the time the government handed out $$ for conversions, the wreckers have been charging $200+ for an unchecked tank.

F**k me!!! I only paid $165 for my tank last year and that included getting it stamped for 10 years...

Not sure if you have a preference for new or used but I tried and tried to get a (new) donut tank but couldn't find an installer over here who could get a hold of one! My cousin just had one put in his BA and again had to wait about 3-4 months I think before his installer got stock. Never tried the wreckers though so that might be worth a go.

In the end I went for a normal tank because (a) didn't want to wait another 6 months; (b) they have greater capacity and (c) I like to carry a spare and didn't like the idea of it just floating around in my boot (although that's mainly because I wanted to put a sub and amps in there so that won't apply to everyone!)

That said, the big tank is a pain in the a** sometimes as well as being really ugly! Luckily for me I don't carry much stuff around so haven't really missed that extra space. I did go to ikea the other day though and that was the first time I really missed the ability to fold the rear seats down  If I had my time again I'd probably give it more consideration, at the time I just wanted to get the install done ASAP.
