ok guys i am just after a price, on howmuch i should be paying for a ECU off an EL ghia 5.0 auto, second hand,

and if anyone has got one sitting around doing nothing,, hand ball it over this direction

are the falcon the same as the ghia ECU's

yes,

It's the BCM that's different between low/mid/high spec cars.

Of course the ECU controls engine and trans (for auto I6s), so make sure the ECU you get is from a similar engine/trans car.

Ford brought out different ECUs for different wheel size, diff ratio, etc as well.

You would be surprised how many different variations there is, just get a factory workshop manual and check out some of the listings.

They are different Peter... Dont forget you would loose your speed sensitive steering if you went to anything other than a Ghia V8 ECU.

They are a special one off ECU. Same as the I6 Ghia ECU.

From the paperwork I have the late EF/EL Ghia's and XR8's had the same computer number. Everything else had another part number (except GT/FBT/Police which had their own numbers)
