There is a model of the Bluebird SSS that came from Japan... Grey Import..

2.0 SR-20DET, and ATTESSA-ATS 4WD... but it looks stock as... the only clue, is the rear badging is narrow, and on one side, (rather than spread over the whole boot area) and the front bumper looks a little different (larger cut-outs for the intercooler)

They are rare, but I know there is one up at St Leonards I've seen a whilte ago...

It was just a spurt off the line to the speed limit 80 or so, it was only a n.a stock one as i spoke 2 the owner. I have a tickford el with lsd. the bluebird murders off the mark and still pulled away in 2nd. I did some reasearch and manual sss does in the 7s to 100 that might explain it. They also have lsd. Not bad for a 4cyl engine. Wont try one again.

bluebirds do go fast.

This is what was on pole and it's lap time at Bathurst in 1984

Pole 15 Nissan Motor Co. George Fury Nissan Bluebird Turbo 2:13.850

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_James_Hardie_1000

Also notice DJR entered 2 cars for that year,
No 17 XE Falcon lined up 3rd on the grid & No 71 Mustang which held position 48 on the grid but did not start the race.
His finishing positions for the race was No17 DNF in 39th and No71 DNS in 64th positions.
