had some bad news thrusday night last week

car accident at a round about, i wasnt at fault. lady cut me off in a newish ute and i hit her in the side. she failed to give way then tired to turn right from the left lane of a 2 lane round about.

any way the car is probably going to be written off due to market value only being 3800 according to her insurance company.

good chance i can buy the car back so i will get to keep all the goodies off the car!

going to look for a replacement car, looking for a ed ghia with a roof.

also found out some good news on saturday, my last car was a green eb ghia with a tough 302 in it, alloy heads, cam, forged bottom end etc.

i allways thought it was only a 302, car went real hard tho just thought it was a freak motor, i kept the motor when i got rid of the car and have since pulled it down for a rebuilt, turns out the crank is a scat 347 unit and the rods are scat h beam forged.

so im pretty excited about the motor and getting it finished started painting it and getting prices on rings and bearings for the motor so i can get it assembled and drop it into what ever car i buy next.

Hey mate so if your going to be rebuilding the 347 you got, are you interested in selling the stock 5.0.

If so let me know, im looking for a motor to build on the side. Cheers

Sucks about the car, hope you get to buy it back... surely that's not 3800 worth of damage?

Wouldn't take too much to write off an ED these days unfortunately.

only takes 50% to write them off in morst cases,

its around the $2500 in parts not including labor for new pannels not second hand

bonnet, guard, bumber, radiator support and a rim.

nice car mate,
shame bout the smash but what can you do....

cant beleive you only had a 2.5" exhaust on it though... comon man you should have known twin 2.25" is the way on these things! (and before anyone says it you can fit them on Eseries with ultralows...)
take all the good bits out of it for sure man, theres a hell of a lot more there then what they will pay you back for the car. (assuming its covered at market value)
