As it turns out, while I was fixing my recent RAM issue my comp was running CHKDSK and un-knowingly it deleted pretty much everything on the drive (approx 300gig) - I downloaded 2 recovery programs, each one found about the same amount of gig in files, but I have to sign up to save the recoveres files...

Anyone know a good program I can get/download?

Thanks again :)

I found R Studio to be the best. A little hard to use but ok for computer minded people. I found it to recover the most files. You will need another hard drive larger than the one you are recovering from and you must not recover to the same hard drive. If you send me ur email i can pass it onto you.

Thanks for the info thus far.

I will recover the files to an external drive, it's got plenty of space.

My email is madcoupe@hotmail.com

All I know is that after using two 'shareware' programs, almost 300g was found which is 100% of what I lost.

Will have to look when i get home. You should have had the destination drive plugged in while doing the scan, i think its recover or something after scan is completed.

The recovery option will only come up after the scan is complete. Once completed right click on the drive you have scanned and select "recover all files" then a window should open so you can select output folder. This folder MUST not be on the same drive that you are recovering.
