Next exhaust then maybe (just maybe) a turbo for s-h-i-t-s and giggles. Have a pending bid on almost a full set up minus waste gate and intercooler.

"excited"

Removed rear muffler and replaced with 2.5" straight pipe onto factory chrome tip. Hollowed out the cat converter, liking the note... Full cost $30 plus my own labour.

Few people requested a 'listen' so here goes...

(Note it sounds deeper in real life).

Good work Deff, sounds much better mate . Such a tidy looking BA, great base for a decent project.

How did it go with the turbo setup you had a bid on? Wouldn't happen to have been that one on Trade Me which had the smallish RX7 turbo with it?

Yeh it was, I missed out by $10. Would have been a cool project.

Damn, $10? That sucks!! Could have been a lot of fun for very little $$

I was so tempted to buy that setup the first time round and adapt the manifold to suit my EF. The guy selling the setup came up and bought a muffler off me way back for his EB when he first put a BA motor in it, I think he was going to do a low boost unintercooled setup for it originally. He remembered I was keen to turbo my EF back then so he gave me first chance to snap it up cheap along with a wastegate, bov and few other turbo bit's and piece's before it went on Trade Me.

If only I knew you were interested, I could have passed that onto you before it hit Trade Me and you could have a boosted BA right now, damn lol

Yeh, the thought of a almost no lag turbo appealed to me :)

Looks like its coming along well... I was looking at turbocharging mine but the cost was a real turn-off for me. Good luck with your project mang!

UPDATE.

Made the firm decision to super charge. No turning back now.

Dropped car onto Superlows, yanked the XR6 rear spoler off and chucked on some 18"s. Happy

Was the exhaust loud with the pipe removed and cat gutted?

Looking good! And that exhaust sounds awesome. How many kms did it have when you got it?
