G'day guys!

As i said i'm new to all this so bare with me haha
Anyway yeah my names Mark and i'm 20 and currently live in Adelaide. My pride and joy has been a 1996 EF Fairmont. I've owned it for a bit over 2 years now. It was a family owned car and i took pocession of it once i got my P's!

The first 18 months of owning the car was boring. The only mod i did was a 2.5 inch cat back for a better not. And apart from that it was stock as a rock!

The last 6 months i caught the 'mod bug' after reading numerous threads on here and getting all these crazy ideas. I have only done a few mods, nothing like KWIKXR or some of the guys on here.

Ok now i'll try my best to get my first pic uploaded and after that it should be easy

As i said i caught the bug of 'modding' and it kinda begun from there. I decided to buy a set of SL king springs that i got off ebay for around $150 delivered so i thought that wasn't to bad? I go ta mate around and we decided to attack the mont and drop it so it didnt look like a bloody 4WD! The rears were easy! it was the fronts the were the c#$ts! But we got there in the end.

The suspense that i had when i slowly turned the jack handle to see what it would actually look like. It dropped to the origional height, then kept going, and going, and going...... Then fianlly the jack came completly out. I was a bit shocked as to how much it had dropped as i was only expecting like 30-40mm of drop. (as i said i didn't really know a lot about these cars) But i liked it a lot. Definetly better then what it was.

Deicded to take it for a drive, keen as hell to rip it around the corners to see whether it handled better. It definitely got rid of a lotttttt of body roll! But i kept the standard shocks, and as most of you would know after 16 odd years of bouncing around they turn to crap. So it was really boucny over the bumps which is what i kind of expected. I should of just waited until i had enough money to buy the springs and shocks and done it all together but i was to excited!

Anyway heres a few pics afterwards >>

The old EF engine had done 280,000km which i know isn't a lot for these things but mine was just shagged! lol Oil leaking out og every place you could think of, parts falling off ect! So i decided i had had enough.

Decided to do an Au XR6 conversion. Got quite a low km one with about 140,000km on the clock. I wanted the usual exhaust, cam ect done to it while it was getting put in. it took the guy a few weeks to do it as he did a few hours a day. Kept the origional 2.5 inch cat back, got a set of extractors (can't quote the model) High flow cat. A 1671B cam and a 3inch stainless intake that i can put on and of depending on if i run gas or not. I put the stainless on when i want a bit more power because the gas mixer ring is so restrictive. 15kw difference it made for mine.

So when i run gas i just have the standard EF dual intake and run a pod at the moment. In the process of building an air box (thanks for the ide KWIKXR)

Anway heres a before and after shot >

I would love to paint mine. Like the rocker cover for starters. What sort of paint will you use?

either engine heat proof paint or even brake caliper paint from what I've read on here etc, supercheap auto, autobarn, repco, sprints auto stores all have them etc.

....oh and I live in Windsor Gardens/Modbury TTP area, my car is from the magill area :D.
