it WILL run a MPFI car but it will run like a dog as it fires 3 injectors at a time so it fires 1,3,5 then 2,4,6 at the same times

i think it has something to do with mpfi firing 3 injectors once every engine revolution and cfi firing them every second revolution with a higher fuel rate,
anyway your on the right track

Thats the EB ghia,

Im driving the ED 8-)

Went to the willowbank winternationals today was fantastic! Got to love the ground shaking top fuel dragsters.

Ill start driving the ED to work everyday, hopefully it will be reliable enough for that.

Other then that not much happening. For something random dad got hold of a new hybrid camery for a couple days to test drive as he is thinking of using one as a cab. I took it for a drive its a different experience unlocking, getting in starting and driving without a key. Unlocks when you get close enough then start button and locks with the press of a button on the door handle. Not real responsive off the line when you got your foot down or not.

Regards

Things are looking good

The car got me to work and back Aok

There was a hell annoying rattle coming from the shifter so i ripped that sh\t apart. It looked like the nuts on the adjustable bolts for the shift point stoppers on the short shifter were rattling against the body with the movement of the drive line. So i did some panel beating and all is well.

I kind of forgot but for the last 9 months or longer the FLH window is being held up with rubber stops because the window mech failed. So this weekend or even in the afternoons ill be pulled on out from the ghia and fitting it in. That will secure the car much better, i then plan to commence removal and cleaning of the ghia LSD so its ready to swap over, ill do the swaybars too. Changing to the T5 combined with the lower ratio 3.32 LSD will make the car launch a lot quicker and naturally feel more powerful. Once thats not enough any more ill get around the finishing a rebuild engine with the 1673 and get before and after dyno read outs to see the real gains.

That is all,

Cheers

Sounds like a plan dude. Don't you mean 3.23 lsd?

I remember what my Eb Ghia was like with the sloppy lsd before it went bang. Then i replaced it with a nice tight one, far out the difference, was worth the effort to swap over.

Cheers

Operation Reliability is going strong.

Got to and from work with no dramas! Once in a while, maybe every couple days i might have to "tap" the dash near handbrake for it to start, doesn't take much so im not bothered.

I have installed to following inside the car
Roof - White SMD 48-LED Light Panel, this panel seriously lights up the entire car, so much that dad has installed one in his cabs for nights when light is needed. I made an offer of $7.49(should have started lower) and they accepted, there usually $8. Post was pricey but i combine post got T10's for the dash, i think i was ment to get the T5's rated at 12V as the T10's are rated at 24V but still work..

These were from this seller on ebay, post didn't take long. http://myworld.ebay.com.au/virtualvillage-au-alpha/

I also got these from a different seller 1 per footwell and 2 for the boot.
24CM LED Car 12V Lights Strip Flexible Grill White, just over $1 each bargin

Finally i have got some of these and going to fit them to the aircon controls and the rear demist, all of which currently have the lights taken out or disabled. Only need 5 so will have plenty spare

20pcs 5mm White LED Diode Bulb Light Lamp 15000MCD New.

The boot ones come on as per opening the boot, and the footwells come on with the usual opening of the door or flick of the interior light switch. So won't be on while driving unless i flick the switch myself for when i need to read/look at something. It's hard to get photo's but ill try again tomorrow night.

Cheers.

That i did know. I have pulled both MPFI & CFI dizzies apart, to pillage parts for building my electric dizzy for my mighty boy.

Michael - if you have to tape the dash, sounds like you have some dry solder joins in either the smartlock module or the BEM. If you are no stranger to a soldering iron, might be worth pulling the modules & going over all the solder joins.

Cheers

I read that somewhere about the solder problems but it doesn't do it very often. It did it today on about the 4th start of the day and last time i did it was about tuesday i think.

If it get more regular ill pull it out to have a look.

Cheers.

It will get more regular, as the joins get worse for conductivity.

Cheers

you can cheat and bypass that curcuit by joining the blue/red wires together on the smartlock module, this bypasses the starter motor imobilisation, if you want to do it i have the pin no of the 2 wires somewhere.
and the smartlock will still imobilise the ecu just not the starter motor....
